SPWCH ARCHIVES REACHES 6,000 MARK

Sal Manna —Thu, 10/17/2019 - 21:50

October 15, 2019 - The archives of the Society for the Preservation of West Calaveras History (SPWCH) now holds more than 6,000 items, according to Sal Manna, the nonprofit group's founder and president. The organization reached that mark last week with the acquisition of the record book of the Camanche school district’s finances from 1918-1925. The archives, comprised largely of artifacts and photographs, hit the 4,000 mark in November 2013 and the 5,000 mark in June 2016. The SPWCH has averaged nearly one entry per day over the past three years. Anyone with items of local historical interest is welcome to donate them to the SPWCH, a California incorporated charitable trust, by contacting the group at westcalaverashistory@gmail.com.
